Are you new to Toastmasters? Would you like to hear about Toastmasters Pathways? Do you have questions you want to ask before selecting a pathway? If so, this workshop is for you.
Peter Simmonds will be leading the workshop. We will also have a round of Table Topics to help us all improve our impromptu speaking skills.
Peter Simmonds
A masters student and longstanding Toastmaster, I know our club can make a difference in the lives of everyday students, be it in interviews, presentations and even relationships. During our workshop I will explore with you how to figure out your ‘why’ and other ways to get the most out of Toastmasters.
This will be an online Zoom workshop from 7:00-8:30pm.
Are you happy with your Path? What information do you need to make the most of your experience? Peter Simmonds will answer any questions you may have and help you gain a clearer idea of where your pathway can lead you. Folks remember to put this date in your diaries, on the fridge at home, write it on your hand if need be.Â
Yesterday we heard from two incredible women, Nidhi Tewari and Kate Wislang. Both of them shared their personal experiences of what it is like to study within the male dominated STEM field.
Nidhi talked about practical steps that can be taken to help women feel like they belong in STEM. It was interesting to hear about her journey and what led her to research about the convergence between Technology and Law.
Nidhi Tewari
Kate used graphs/diagrams to convey her message that the number of women in science decline as they progress in their career. She is also keen to be a role model and encourage young girls in high school to pursue careers in engineering and physics.
