How to win the Evaluation Contest

Action, adrenalin & fame on YouTube. The GoPro was recording, we were participating in Julius’ engaging educational. Let’s see how famous he will become! Julius unveiled the secrets of some of NZ’s best evaluators and most experienced Contest Judges so our contestants are now ideally prepared to win the area trophy.

To sway the Contest Judges, the content of the evaluation is way more influential than its delivery. Julius’ advice: begin with a catchy introduction, deliver your key commendations, three recommendations, more commendations and conclude with a motivational summary or take home message.

Andy coached us for the upcoming clubs’ days. To close a sale, there are four strategies:

  1. The 1-2-3 close
  2. The humourous close
  3. The companion close
  4. The now-or-never close

Some volunteers, bribed with chocolates, modelled a typical situation at clubs’ day and tried to implement these strategies. All of our three guests tonight got involved! We welcome Miran as our newest U-CAN-SPEAK member, who already shone with an outstanding impromptu speech and we would love to have our other guests joining us again soon!
